$600 take it or leave i... Oh you're gone..

Now lower the price so when it gets sold here in Aussie, it WONT be $1000+ for some reason even though the AUSD/USD ratio is close and I have no idea what makes it so expensive here.

But I want it so bad :

Well what did you people expect? Any decent hardware will cost money. You can't pickup a good and brand new tech for free. It's like with the netbooks, you could pickup some crap netbook with a bad screen, slow CPU and slow SSD for shits, or you could get a much better one, but then it would cost you a lot more.

If you want a cheap tablet then get one of those crap chinese ones, usually some heap of plastic, an old and outdated screen jammed in and a CPU that makes your cellphone look like a beast in comparison. And you'll get it next to free.

The Galaxy Tab was expensive, but it was also top of the line of Android tablets with excellent quality build, all features you wanted and excellent screen and speed. This Tegra one looks even more powerful. Get your heads out of the clouds and face the reality.

I've tested a few of those el-cheapo tablets and they have been next to useless. I also own a Galaxy Tab and iPad and they are lightyears ahead in every department, speed, quality, enjoyment, features, durability...

You want good stuff? Then you'll pay premium.

The low-end iPad is $499. Any company that releases a tablet has to make sure they at least release a low-end tablet too that is comparable to the low-end iPad. If the low-end iPad is $499, then the Android should be $399. Companies that don't do this will fail. That's a fact.

Also, the DOA tablet requires you get at least one-month service from Verizon before they will even activate the WiFi. Lame.

This is a joke, right ? And they said that Apple products were overpriced ...
This is here is a perfect example of why Apple is doing so well. It's because companies like Motorola fail with this kind of product and price tag. Sure it's better than the current generation iPad but you have to at least sell it for the same price to make people consider it. And come on , 800$ for a tablet ? You can get a powerful laptop for that price.
Archos makes some capacitive screen tablets which go for 200-300 $ for instance , that's more reasonable.

There are rumours that many Apple Marketing Executives have been admitted to hospital with severe cases of laughing fits. They may never recover. Neither should the head of marketing for the Xoom …as he will soon be looking for new employment.

A little pricy, but reasonable. At $600 it would be an absolute steal. Hope that price will go down soon to $600-$700 range.
Does anyone seriously believe Table that is 3X speed of iPad would be cheaper?

Pricy ? How much does the ipad 64gb cost my friend ? Does it have camera, no, does it have 1080p , no, does it have hdmi out, no, does it have usb non itunes port , no. I can go on and on. If you are that cheap and except to pay for actual quality and function. Then you better go for Archos 101 at 299$.

What with everyone and Ipad? It's almost one year old. Would you buy one year old technology for MSRP?
Life span of phone/computer/netbook is 24 month. $629 / 2 = $315. Anyone paying more than $350 for ipad right now is hopeless.

Ok, so I thought Motorola wanted to compete with the iPad. Last I check, when you have an entrenched product with a lot of market strength the way you do that is by releasing a more affordable product not a more expensive product.

This isnt aimed at the mainstream anyhow.. if it was, you can bet it would be cheaper. The mainstream user simply cant afford this, no matter how much they may gripe to the company. But, like all new enthusiast products, price is secondary, too.

But whether this actually sells well? No idea. Niche customer, like apple, as was mentioned.

In the commercial the girl herself is using a Motorola pad. Unless the guy magically put his onto her desk then it's safe to say that all the drones were already using Motorolla pads.

Commercial would have made more sense if she was using an iPad.

"You can get one hell of a nice notebook for that kind of money."

For an $800 laptop, I can get an even BETTER desktop. For the price of an $800 desktop, I can get a "cell-phone" watch that ONLY does phone calls (maybe a calc too).

PLEASE stop comparing different types/groups of tech. It's not the same focus.

Dude your getting a whole lot more hardware then the iPad, so your going to pay more. The iPad is over priced because it doesn't have dual camera's, no sd slot, no support for flash, etc. You get all that and a bag of chips with the Xoom, so yeah expect to pay more.
