hi, can you tell me which would be the best choice for gaming:

#1
15.6"
Intel Core i5 2430M 2,4 GHz
Chipset HM65
NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M 2048 MB

#2
15.6"
Intel Core i7 2670QM 2,2 GHz
Chipset HM67
NVIDIA GeForce GT 525M 1024 MB

#3
15.6"
AMD A4 2,1 GHz
Chipset RS880M
AMD Radeon HD 6750M 1024 MB

Solution
The i5 is the better choice, in this instance, it is a hyperthreaded dual core, so it can run 4 threads if needed, but only has two physical cores. This saves energy (better battery life) and the clock speed is higher which is what matters for most games as opposed to more cores.

#2 is out because the 525M is super duper weak.

#1 vs #3: #1 has the better CPU for sure. But #3's GPU is better.

Like jemm said - if you can upgrade the graphics on #1 then it'll definitely be worth it.

Edit: After looking at the hierarchy chart, the 525 and 540 share the same rung, so maybe I'm wrong about #2. I may have made an incorrect assumption there. http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gaming-graphics-card-review,3107-7.html

if the #3 has the slowest cpu, i'll scratch that of the list.

from the list larkspur linked, it puts the 525m, in front of the 540m
but if they are the same, it's comes down to the best cpu.

but isn't the i7 2670QM 2,2 GHz better than the i5 2430M 2,4 GHz?
both got the sandy bridge..

Did you look at the benchmarks I linked?

Since you are leaning towards #1, here is a direct link to the information page on the 540M.

http://www.notebookcheck.net/NVIDIA-GeForce-GT-540M.41715.0.html

If you scroll to the bottom, there are various benchmarks for games at different settings showing FPS scores.

If you are satisfied with those FPS for whichever games you are going to play, then go with #1. If not, you may have to look at a different model with a better GPU (560M or something else)

yes, i've used that site a lot, some really good info there,
what i have learnd on that site is that the 540m is more better,
but than again, ther isn't much info (benchmarks) for the 525m,
so it's hard to compare..

the 6750m, seems way better but i have no idear about
how good the cpu/chipset is compared to the other two?..

the reason for the i5, is that i read it runs cooler than the i7 and uses less power.
the i7 has 4 cores, but most games only uses two,
so in that matter, the i5 should be the better choice?

No, it just means their performance is pretty similar. Blade's link shows you the specifics. Of course the 540m outperforms the 525m, it's just not by that much. The hierarchy chart just gives you a rough general idea of how different chips perform.

The 4 core will be better for games in the long-term, but the 525M graphics really needs to be better. Frankly I'm not at all impressed with the 540M either but I understand options are limited.

You can look at each bench score individually on Blade's linked site and see what each laptop had in it for a CPU. There seem to be large variations in scores in certain games depending on the CPU used in the benched laptop.

i'll go with the i5, thanks for all the help!

for some reason this laptop i'm currently using,
can't run notebookcheck and this site properly,
it takes 5-10min. everytime i click one something,
even the white background makes it stall,
well, it isn't mine, so there's not much i can do,
except buy me a new one..
