Best chromebook under £250?

Solution

Any other reccomendations? I found that one online for the same £229 which seems like a decent price. Are there any in the same price range that have 4gb of ram. would 2gb be too low?

2gb would be fine but if you open a lot of tabs while browsing it tends to be laggy.

would try ebay . not sure if you mind used though.

I personally wouldn't trust used electronics on eBay as it could be pretty sketchy.

I think the Acer c720 probably accounts for 30% of all Chromebooks sold, i.e. its the #1 seller. It is very compact, has a great set of ports, and the fastest CPU of any Chromebook (Celeron 2955U and i3-4005, both are the fastest in their class). On amazon the c720 is the #4 selling laptop.

Most of the Chromebooks this year have a SIGNIFICANTLY slower processor, the N2840, a 4-cpu ATOM processor, which is about 25%-40% slower than the Celeron 2955U. See www.passmark.com for full details.

Atm I'm considering either the c720p or the hp 14 (the 4gb ram version with 16gb ssd) http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/1471724.htm#pdpFullProductInformation

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LgX40ImDjxI This video makes them look pretty comparable and I feel if I wanted to multitask the hp 14 would be better. Any thoughts?

Well, the HP 14 would not be a bad laptop at all. If you feel that it is better for multitasking go ahead although internet browsing and notetaking does not take much.
