best fps compatible with win8.1

Hey guys, I am looking for advice in shopping for a first person shooter for my dads machine of which is windows 8.1. I tried fallout 3 on steam and It had issues with my dads multi-core processor and we are not good at giving tech support 4 hours drive away, and phone support is not always a good option.video card and ram can be updated but i'm looking for something that wont puke on the operating system. thanks guys

I'm sorry ,I did not realize this posted in laptops...It was a general question.I am not sure on the specs of my dads computer.

Without specs or at least a link to the PC you dad has it is impossible to know if it can be used to play certain games.

Download and run Speccy, the summary screen should tell you what CPU and graphic card the PC has as well as the amount of RAM.
