Best gaming antivirus?

Just got a new gaming pc and was wondering what the best antivirus is that wont affect my performance in games. I have 8gb of ram, sapphire radeon hd 7970 oc w/boost, and fx-8350. I might get the occasional torrent and I was considering avast, but will avast affect my performance. I have windows 7 btw.

I would not expect any antivirus to affect gaming.
Microsoft security essentials is free, and unobtrusive.

I use free edition of avast and crank all the settings on high, including auto updating every 8 min not the 240 standard.

I love it. It doesn't slow down anything.

If you're offline mode gaming you disable lan connection and can disable antivirus should be fine!

I have used avast previously and I thought it was solid. What are your specs and do you use any additional firewalls or the sort? And do you torrent?

I use AVG Free and I only have a e6600 chip so it doesnt use much resources. Havent had a Bad virus in years? (well, not on the pc )

If you download torrents for pirated games microsoft security essentials has a tendency to delete files without warning you.

I also use avast free without issues in performance. This also has a silent mode (for gaming) however I have never used it

I have used Norton (however it slows down system a bit) and Avira. Currently I am using Immunet Plus protection tool. Some experts told me it is a light antivirus which does not affect your computer’s speed (which is best thing for a gaming laptop). And it is simply great. I can say it from my personal experience.
