Okay I haven't seen a post recently for the most recent best gaming laptop under $1500. I'm also looking for the best under $700 and $500 for friends who are on a very strict budget but still like to game .

Thanks in advance !!

Nvidia's just launched the GTX 1060, 1070 and 1080 for laptops so It's about time you take a look at them

https://www.amazon.com/GL502VS-DB71-Full-HD-Gaming-I7%C2%AD6700Q-Windows/dp/B01K1INYD0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1471566581&sr=8-1&keywords=gl502vs

It does cost more than you asked but honestly as laptops are not upgradeable It's best to pick the most powerful device you are capable of. Anyways if you consider it's too much you can sell the 256MB M.2 SSD and get your money back

I'm not the only one who thinks so, the 2 reviews of that laptop only criticize the plastic but overall they agree it's a really good choice. I insist on this model

If you're still concerned about your budget you can get this thin 14 inch laptop but it's...

Hi underd0g!
Sorry I don't have time to dig up the lower prices, I'll come back tomorrow morning. ;)
Heres that expensive one- http://pcpartpicker.com/list/s9HTJV
Plenty of room for overclocking AND future upgrades (like you'd need them with an overclockable water cooled devils canyon and an overclockable GTX 1080. The best future upgrades for this one in my opinion would be larger or even a M.2 SSD instead of SATA III. For the games, it has dual band wifi and gigibit ethernet capabilities, and 16 GB of RAM is good enough for nearly everything, and it has high speed (you'll need to raise its voltage) overclocable RAM, too. It even just happened to play out that its micro ATX!
I'll be back after my daily allowance of sleep with the other two builds.

Wait for laptops with GTX 1070 and 1080 on it. Right now there are few under $1500 with 1060 on it so if you don't like waiting then go for it. For laptops under 500-700 best you can have is Skylake cpu with integrated 530.

I'm still really not quite sure what OP wants....
He's casually asked about a best laptop under 1500, but then mentioned two friends' builds for 500-700?
Are they laptops?
o_O
Gaming laptops in that price range aren't exactly great performance...

Okay, so you need laptops.
Heres one with a 1060 and i7 for $1500- http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=Property&Subcategory=3365&N=100157995%2050001312%204084%20601211658&IsNodeId=1&IsPowerSearch=1
This is acualy pretty close to what I'm saving up to upgrade my PC up to. With a haswell CPUs tend to run cool until you overclock them, and as much as we all want 1080s, it would've surpassed you budget. You have an SSD and HHD.
This is what I could dig up for under $700- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834232956
This one has an i7, but the graphics card was the biggest downgrade from the $1500 one- a 950 (which really isn't too shabby!) . Putting that aside, 12 GB of RAM is sufficient for a lot of games, and a SSD is a possible upgrade over the standard laptop HDD in there now.
When I searched Newegg for gaming laptops and put the price cap at $500, I got this- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIAA3X4RP3802 . Not exactly very useful, so I had to choose a notebook instead.
Here it is- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834315302
It's the closest you'd get to a gamer at that price, but the i5 could run games on lower settings, and 8 GB or ram tells the same story.

What games do you play, anyway?
Hope this helped!

It's simple. If you need your laptop for studying you can't get stuck with a desktop computer

Yeah they are. At least good enough for most of games

It's not like 7 or 8 years ago laptops are becoming better and better because of the user demand

Nevertheless a desktop has much more advantages when it comes to usability laptops are meant to be used only if you can't stay at one place

If you're still concerned about your budget you can get this thin 14 inch laptop but it's only 200 USD less and performs significantly slower

https://www.amazon.com/MSI-GS43VR-Phantom-Pro-006-i7-6700HQ/dp/B01IO9Y30G/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1471566812&sr=8-1&keywords=gtx+1060+laptop

And Xotic PC said that they will probably have the GL502VM which will be much cheaper than this one with the same 1060

For your friends it seems like they will need to get stuck and go for a 900 series laptop due to Nvidia will need a couple of months to launch cheaper pascal cards on a laptop

For $700 you obtain i5 or i7 (either one is good) + GTX 960M and 8GB of RAM (no SSD:)

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834890015R&cm_re=gtx_960m-_-34-890-015R-_-Product

for $500 I really suggest to save some money and try to reach the $600-700 sweet spot:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834315423&cm_re=gtx_950m-_-34-315-423-_-Product

Because It doesn't make any sense to get a 940M simply because it costs $50 less he'd better look for a 960M as well or at least 950M

I hope to have solved your questions
