hm...wonder why only one person voted for asus and others clicked "view results..."? Please vote before viewing! Then remember your vote and then minus 1 for the option and you'll get the value :)

From a gamers point of view, I have become disappointed in my ASUS G73, and the inability to update video drivers w/o the risk of system lock ups. Therefore I am voting for Clevo/Sager!

ok...but I'm not playing games on my laptop...I have relatives recommending me to Sony and Asus...and I'm dropping out Toshiba because it is aiming for beauty, not quality in my point of view...

I'd say the ThinkPad is the best, been using it for more than 6 years and I couldn't be more happy with the durability and stability of ThinkPads.

Asus would be my second choice, though.

ok, thanks for all replies. Really appreciate it.

and I think the reason why Sony is so expensive is because they want to have the money for their "dedicated sony centres", you've seen them or even been there before? and they want to have the money to research for stuff like their new Bravia 3D TV!

I just want to know which processor can process things quicker and which slower...ranked in terms of 1, 2, 3, etc... (and not talking about how fast the RAM can work and how fast the hard drive is, etc...)

Intel SU7300 1.30GHz
vs.
Intel Core 2 Duo T5500 1.66GHz
vs.
Intel Atom N450 1.66GHz

or maybe in a way like this..?
Sony VPCY115FG
vs
ASUS S7F
vs.
ASUS eee pc 1005PE

I am not considering ASUS U30JC because I can't buy it from a physical store.
I am considering Sony VPCY115FG because there is a sony store near my home in my state, since it has 6+hr battery. Was going to consider VPCS123FG but withdrew my decision because of its 3.5hr battery

Thanks

consider a dell from the dell outlet, you can get more machine for your dollar.

Ive personally bought 4 laptops from the outlet described as "refurbished" 2 are 5+ years old, never once had a problem and are still running great, a precision m90 is 4+ years old (only problem was a bad battery) and its still a powerhouse (wifes) and my m90 with the hotter quadro 2500m gpu finally croaked on me (the gpu)a couple weeks ago due to heat issues which was as much my fault as the laptops, totally repairable.

my brother in law has purchased 2 laptops from the outlet and my father in law has also purchased 2, every single one has been a great purchase.. only on one of the 4 laptops they bought they had to replace a keyboard and after ordering it and preparing to install it, a poppy seed comes out, which was causing the trouble to begin with.

im not in anyway a dell fan boi, trust me. ive built every single desktop that I have owned since 1995 and I tend to shy away from a pre built system, but some of the systems that dell has in the outlet are just a killer deal, even if you take into consideration something going wrong with it, you still come out way ahead.
