looking to purchase a laptop for a freshman gaming design student. what do you think of this one for $759. warranty has me a little worried as it is only for spills and screen, not operating system, 3 years for 149. school is recommending window 7 as opposed to 8 which is a little harder to find.

Asus K55A-XH71 15.6" LED Notebook - Intel Core i7 i7-3630QM 2.40 GHz - Mocha
Cache 6 MB
64 bit architecture

thanks.

Honestly if it isn't too late I think you should take it back for a refund. For $530 on Newegg you can get this laptop with a quad core AMD and an 8750M graphics that will be far far superior.
thank you. as it turns out the store lied and promised to ship but then it was on back order. as he was leaving for school tomorrow I went last night and bought an HP probook 4530s, which was slightly cheaper at $679 but the extended warranty more costly at $199.00. I am hoping this was a good purchase. these are the specs on that laptop:
Intel Core i7-2670QM
Microsoft Windows 7 Professional (64-bit)
4GB DDR3-1333 RAM
500GB 7,200RPM Hard Drive
AMD Radeon HD 6490M
SuperMulti DVDRW Drive
Media Card Reader
10/100/1000 Network
Atheros 802.11b/g/n Wireless
Bluetooth 3.0+HS Combo
15.6" Widescreen Display

Opinions on this one please?

thanks. it probably is too late for me as he started using it last night. but in any case, the school is requiring windows 7 and I had a little trouble as the model you recommended and most in the stores have gone to windows 8 already. but thank you.
