It does depend on your budget, MSI has some really good ones, but Asus has cheaper laptops that can fit your needs just as well.

And plus, you don't really need an uber-powerful computer for what he/she is planning on doing...

Not for the programming, but depending on what kind of animation, Askier might need something with a little umph.

This laptop will destroy anything you throw at it. One of the best stock laptops on the market IMO.

This laptop will destroy anything you throw at it. One of the best stock laptops on the market IMO.
Agreed, between the super raid setup, the video card, and the ram, you'll be just fine with animation and programming.
