Ok so this is gonna be a long read...

Looking to achieve the best sound quality possible with my setup. Currently using Turtle Beach Earforce x12s from my Xbox 360 days with my computer. Also included is a Dss2 Sound Processor. I have the included S/PDIF cable that comes with it. I've been reading up that there are some limitations with Dolby audio and PC Gaming or something along those lines. Also have Cyber Acoustic 3602 speakers with a media hub controller with a 3.5mm aux input. My real question here is, should I be connecting my headset to one of my computer's 3.5mm inputs, the media hub input (granted there is no loss in audio quality through unneeded connections), the stereo input on the Dss2, or the surround input on the Dss2? And if the Dss2 is best, should I connect PC to Dss2 via 3.5mm or S/PPDIF? If it helps, I believe I have an ASrock z77 extreme 3 motherboard, if I remember correctly.

I also plan on getting Sennheiser HD598's

I ws going to say all you need to do is get a better headset but you already are.

See how your setup sounds with the different connections. You would want to use the spdif connection whenever you can.

I'd just stick with the new headset connected to the motherboard audio out or get an add-on sound card.
