Look at the NHT XD. It is the best integrated desktop speaker system. Retail is supposed to be around $10,000 but you should be able to find it for around $2k on ebay or audiogon.

What are you using them for? Music, gaming? Also, what will be driving these speakers? Onboard audio, dedicated high end sound card, DACs?

stick with klipsch if you want quality. the 2.1s are good, but known for their amps to blow 🙁
