Best started Nikon Lens D5500

So after much research and help for you guys I have finally decided on buying a Nikon D5500.

But now im struggling on which lens I should buy.

Im torn between the Nikon AF-S DX Nikkor 55-200MM F4 5:6 ED VR II

or the 18-55 f/3.5-5.6G VR II AF-S DX NIKKOR

Im going to be focusing on landscape photos and street art and stuff like that, if anyone can maybe recommend another lens or maybe something cheaper that would be nice thanks~

It is actually a little more expensive, but I would look at the 24 to 85 Nikon

The longer lens will be the wrong one for your stated use. The d5500 is an APS-C camera and so you want a walk-around lens which starts at 18mm or wider.
I would recommend one of the following:
Nikon 16-80 f/2.8-4
Nikon 18-140 f/3.5-5.6

or the older
Nikon 16-85 f/3.5-5.6

Or the
Sigma 17-50 f/2.8 OS

The 24-85 the other poster mentioned is a nice lens but it is not wide enough. It is designed for full-frame cameras.

Maybe our interpretations of landscape and street art are different. I like to be closer and crop less afterward. I don't think 24mm is too long. But it is just my opinion. I do think 50mm is too short for most situations.

24mm on an aps-c gives the FOV of a 36mm lens and can never go wider. There is zero advantage of this lens for an aps-c camera like the d5500. Paying extra for a full-frame lens and then having a more restrictive range without any benefit over the 1/2 dozen or more lenses which are both as long and wider makes no sense even if you like to shoot at oddball focal lengths. Why pay more to not have the 16-23 range?
