Best sub $700, sub 15" laptop

I'm looking for a very portable laptop that will be good to do programming and schoolwork on.
I would prefer for it to be less thatn 15" and less than $700 (up to $699.99).

Any opinions?

Actually mine has i5 2450M 2.5 ghz while that has i5 2410M 2.3 ghz, 750gb vs. 640gb.

if it makes you more confident, the processors (2450m) and ram are the same in the computer listed above as the ones we have in the it department at my school. we use them for programming and virtual machines, they handle it pretty well. loading the vm is slow, but after it gets going its just fine! hope this helps your decision

I was actually already looking at the ASUS 13", so I'm glad it gets a thumbs up from the TH community.

And junky77, I'm not using it for gaming because I have a fancy, custom built desktop gaming rig for just that. This laptop will be completely portable.

I'd even buy a tablet if I wasn't going to be using it for programming.

It's a 15.6" but the thing is I'm trying to find a laptop with a FullHD screenm which is much better than the typical 768p ones..

For programming and school work, FullHD 1080p on a 15.6" screen is over rated. The usual 1366x768 is more than adequate because at this small a size you can't see any difference. Ya there may be a little less screen realestate, but it is more than manageable and down the road if he wanted to watch movies in his dorm or apartment he can get 1080p onto a TV with an hdmi cable from the laptop to the TV.
