Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro Headphones - 80 Ohm or 250 ohm ?

just bought a Fiio E12 Mont Blanc and want to use it with Beyer Dynamics DT770, do i buy the 80 Ohm or 250 Ohm how much difference is there as i know the Amp will be good enough for both.

depends on your preferences.

the 80ohm version will be bassier. the 250ohm version will be a bit more articulate/accurate. this is not to say that the 250 is not bassy (it will still be bassy) nor that the 80 is flabby (its still bright) but that they tend to sound more like i described if you a/b compared them.

both are okay choices. they are going to sound generally the same but with the differences noted above.

i take it the Fiio E12 is not too powerful for the 80 Ohm version?
i might go for that bit more bass, could be a toss of a coin.....decisions?

if it was me, i'd probably get the 250ohm version for the increased clarity as fiio amps are warm so will already liven the bass/mids up a bit. also, most fiio amps have a bass boost on them anyways.

completely your call though, neither is a bad choice.
