I just bought the new bit defender family pack and ever since I've installed it on my PC I've been getting more and more frequent BSODs' saying "driver irql not less or equal. I uninstalled bit defender and everything was fine.

What should I do? I paid a lot for bitdefender and I don't want to get a different antivirus because I really like this one. Does anyone have a fix?

Im running windows 8.1 GTX 980 Intel i7 4790k non overclocked and an asus maximus 7 hero motherboard.

Thank You for the help!

virus scanners will often fail because of bugs in drivers that they rely on.
I would try to update various drivers that you have on your system.
old network drivers, and look at updated drivers from your motherboard vendor. Install them then
reinstall bitdefender and see if it works better.
(also check for BIOS updates)

- most motherboard vendors make BIOS upgrades pretty painless now.
- there are programs that will update all of your drivers for you but generally you would not want to use them. As a start I would just go to the motherboard vendor and update the drivers that they have collected for you for your motherboard.
If I still had problems I would then look for OEM sources of drivers.
