Hi
It's that time of year again! Black Friday!!! I am currently transferring schools right now and am looking for a laptop to supplement my Computer Science major. Found a decent laptop with most of the specs i want, but the GPU seems uneeded. Are there any alternatives or is this a good buy?

U530 with Nvida - $749.00: http://shop.lenovo.com/us/en/laptops/lenovo/u-series/u530-touch/

Solution
Performance-wise, they're about the same. The i7 consumes less power though compared to the i5-4200M, but also a great choice. Most laptops in this category of casual usage are generally good so it's hard to decide which.

Is there a non-gaming focused laptop that could be recommended at a lower price point? I would like a touchscreen since Windows 8 & 10 support it, but don't need the GPU. i7 would be great!!!!

What about this config for a Lenovo E Series (no touchscreen)?

Intel Core i5-4200M Processor (3MB Cache, up to 3.10GHz)
Windows 8.1 64
14.0" HD(1366x768) AntiGlare - Black
Intel Integrated HD Graphics
8GB PC3-12800 DDR3L (2 DIMM) <- Would SODIMM be satisfactory?
500GB Hard Disk Drive, 7200rpm, 2.5"
DVD Recordable 8x Max Dual Layer
Intel Dual Band Wireless 7260AC with Bluetooth 4.0
1 Year Depot or Carry-in
2YR Depot + Accidental Damage Protection

Price: $849.55
