Black laptop screen

Mylaptop will turn on and start but I cant see any thing unless I hold a flashlight up to it...please

So you can see the screen when you hold a flashlight to it? If that is the case, your backlight on the display is probably shot.

If the laptop is still under warranty, then I would contact the manufacturer and have them fix it for you.

If it isn't under warranty any longer, then you have the option of replacing it yourself, if you feel comfortable doing it, or take it to a local tech.
