Black screen on my DV7

Turning on my laptop this morning i got a black screen. The led for the caps lock blinks once then stop contiously. If I change the CPU would this fix it? or should i take a different approach?

It's most likely a CPU issue, but I can't be certain. Have you tried with/without the battery? Does the laptop fan turn on? Do your indicator lights turn on?
