Blank screen after switching on

Solution
The black screen is usually very easy to repair on a laptop. First turn your computer off by pressing and holding down the start button. Next unplug the computer and then remove the battery. Press and hold down the start button for about 60 seconds. Release the button and plug in the computer. Press the start button and the display should return. If this does not work, try it again up to four times. No results usually indicates a bad mother board. Hope this helps.

Solution
with laptops can be a bad backlight. use a flashlight a see if anything shows up on the screen. also look to see if anyone change the output setting for the video. most laptop have a funtion key to change between onboard and ext monitor. (connect a monitor see if anything shows up). with any laptop check that the ram is locked in. if not you wont get a post.
