I got a blue snowball about 4 months ago and it's really quiet, I have it on the highest sensitivity. I looked it up and found that others have a switch on the back to higher the sensitivity but mine doesn't have a switch, can I adjust the sensitivity another way?
Thanks

Solution
Ah okay I see.
Have you got audio drivers installed?
Often that's what causes the issue here.
Also if you want a temporary fix, turn up capture volume in whatever program you're using.

With the exception of the Blue Snowball not having the boost option available...

That switch in the back is "cardoid/omnidirectional/ . . . . something -10 dB something" at the back of the snowball
The ICE version doesn't have that switch, so I'm guessing you have that one.

It's not a Blue Snowball specific thing, it's a Windows setting.....
It's the same for all recording devices.

I already have sensitivity at 100% its just not loud enough but it can pick up things from far away.

There should be a software solution in the area Chugalug is describing. My post was to confirm there is no hardware solution (assuming properly functioning hardware) if you have a snowball ICE.

I followed the guide and this mic doesn't have "microphone boost" and I already moved microphone to 100% in "levels"

I fixed it by downloading voice meeter, it's a free program that edits the audio input live and so far it's working pretty well, thanks for the help!

"Not all sound cards support Microphone Boost." (http://www.spellquizzer.com/microphoneboost.htm)

Sure, I'm just pointing out that there may be circumstances when that feature isn't present, in general. I don't have a Blue Snowball. I have known a laptop not have the option, and it doesn't appear even on my desktop when I plug in my Samson CO1U USB mic. I guess in that case, the 'sound card' is effectively built into the mic and it doesn't support it.
Sorry if I was being picky. At least the OP has solved his problem!

This should teach you to trust in what people say about their computers instead of denouncing them as not qualified to do something as simple as adjusting sound settings. Smh at how you treated this question.
