"Sales for the Bold are already in danger. RIM has launched its first clamshell device in the 8220 and everyone is working themselves into a right bother over the upcoming release of the company’s first touch screen handset, the Storm. Also scheduled to be released before the year’s end, sales for the Storm (and indeed the flip Pearl) will likely obliterate anyone’s interest in the Bold."

You're an idiot, they have three separate types of phones which are for different people, they all have different purposes.

You don't have a whole lot of room to be talking, apparently. While you might be smart enough to consider in advance whether a certain type of device is right for you, plenty of people do not. The concept of whether a flip phone is good for them or whether they need full touch or want qwerty is not something a lot of people consider. They want the latest, shiniest piece of shit they can find; as recommended to them by some 17 year old kid looking for commissions.

So, you can fully fund and develop 3 new things and let them all hit the market at the same time (and let them share their potential) or you can launch them one at a time over a period of a year or so (and each one will be 'new').

The fact that the latter is EXACTLY what RIM tried to do shows that you're the idiot. It was never their intention to do this...they tried to stagger the releases...the Bold just happened to suck at its release and is now held up.

Go take some economics and marketing classes before you shoot your fat mouth at people.
