Yes, I know boost doesn't activate nextel phones. How do I enter into the
phone book the direct connect number like 123*456*7890 my phone only takes
the first 3 digits. I can save the number in the phone book if the other
party connects first. I used the direct connect feature several times
yesterday but the $1.50 was not charged to my account, are they slow or was
it a first day grace ?

They don't take the $1.50 for the direct connect usage till the end of the
day (which is 3:00am to 3:00am). I'm not sure about the i30. I have an i205
and an i60. Both of my phones let me pick between mobile, page, dc, etc... I
just enter the number 183*696*14316 in the phone book. You must enter the
stars also for it to work.

I was charged the 1.50 for the second day but not the first. Thanks for
the 3 am info I just assumed midnite but 3am is better.

Before I can save a number in the phone book the type must be selected.
If I select the type "'d then I can only enter the first 3 digits and the
* will not display, if I enter the number first and then set the type, it
allows the whole number and *'s but after setting the type it reports the
number as invalid.

The guide "Welcome to Boost Mobile" indicates the number as 999*999*9999
with the third digit 4 numbers, maybe it can be 4 or 5 digits ?

I was thinking that my phone book would only take the last group of
numbers as a way to lock me into one area ID, network ID, something left
over when the phone was a nextel phone.

Possibly but all the Nextel phones I sold or have used in the past took the
private id the same way (999*999*9999 or how ever many digits it was) but
putting them in was different. Some where in the phone book and some had to
be entered through setup.
