What are some brands people have bought to switch out an Hdd for an SSD in a laptop? There are many, and of course the prices vary. I'd like to find a lower cost SSD that a gamer is still very happy with. Would some be willing to tell me what brand they went for? Amazon preferably as I have an account there, Thanks so much for any help.

Yes, Samsung is generally known as the best, but say, what if you couldn't find one, what are your 2nd and 3rd choices?

I am not sure what I'll have to spend, but knowing some brand names I can shop and decide then. I have a Toshiba Satellite L-775D-S7132 ;) I'll attach a System info: Toshiba System info
What is the capacity of your current HDD? I assume you want at least that much storage when replacing with a SSD. If not, please clarify and include your budget.

Check these selections at Newegg (easier to see options than at Amazon):

https://www.newegg.com/p/pl?N=100011693 600038519 8000 50001077 50001455 50001305 50001306 50001183

Technically, any SATA SSD (2.5 inch) would be much faster than any HDD. Also...

Technically, any SATA SSD (2.5 inch) would be much faster than any HDD. Also, since they are standard size, they can also be easily swapped.

This selection includes Samsung, Crucial, Western Digital, Seagate, and Kingston. I would personally stick with Samsung or Crucial. Any of these brands will meet most users needs.

Amazon should have all these brands as well.
