Broken AMD CPU support and locking mechanism

I have an Asus m5a99fx pro r2.0 and I accidentally broke off the entire cpu support and lock mechanism. I can still place the intact cpu directly on the socket without the lock mechanism but the computer doesn't detect it... Is the motherboard broken or is there a ghetto quick fix??? (8350fx)

Well if you actually physically broke the CPU support off then that motherboard is broke. Time to buy a new mobo.
