browser and restart and shutdown button problem

Hi everyone.
When i try to open any of my browser it does not open. There is no error message. And also when i try to click the restart and shutdown button nothing happens. The laptop can only be shutdown by the power button.My laptop is Dell inspiron 15 7000series. Need urgent help

Hi there,

The power-button can be configured in your OS (in Windows7: control panel - power management --> there should be on the leftpanel something like: "Change the behavior of the power button" ... I have it in dutch). You can choose what it should do when pressed.
Holding it for 5 sec it always shutdown !

Yes thats ok. But my problem is not this one. It is that when i click the shutdown button on screen not the one above the keyboard
