And the cause that caused it to happen had a prior cause, and that cause had a zillion prior causes, traceable to the exact atomic/quantum configuration that set off the Big Bang. Since the universe is collapsing, all matter will once again return to a single mass which will once again reconfigure exactly the way it did in the last (first?) Big Bang, and another Big Bang--just like the last one--will occur again. So, be warned! This will happen again in the first place!
