Hello people,
i intend to buy a laptop soon but i can't decide whic one to get. The following are my needs and usage. Please help me decide.
I will be- recording and producing music, so it should have a decent audio card, playing games like wither 3. I want to get atleast 20 fps on settings above medium.
I will also be doing some video editing, will be taking it to places often, programing, taking notes at college.
My first choice was MS surface book. But some search about gaming in it even with 16gb ram, intel i7 and dGPU made me rethink.
So is there any laptop that is closer to coping with all my needs or is SB the closest? I can compramise with the detachebility, but it would be so good if someone could suggest me one that is atleast nearly flexible as MS SB.
I can go upto 2500$

This PC (http://www.dell.com/uk/p/alienware-15-r2/pd?oc=n00aw15r203&model_id=alienware-15-r2) is good. As you said, you wanted a laptop. This PC can run Witcher 3 Recommended settings so expect about 45 fps on medium. This will do video editing just fine, as it has an I7.

Seems to be very expensive and not easy to find due to it has a radeon card. Most of gaming laptops have nvidia GPUs

Also I don't recommend alienware because as I said they're expensive

This one has a GTX 965M which should be enough to run anygame at 1080p very well. Just add 8GB of DDR3L for a total o 16GB. This is probably the cheapest option that covers your needs.

You should've said how much money you wanted to spend before that way we can think about what's the best option for you.

Now this one has 16GB of RAM, a IPS panel and a GTX 970M something that is worth if you employ CUDA cores but costs 250 bucks more:

All laptops that are for general use won't be good enough for gaming. I understand you need one portable because you want to carry it round to school and places but it won't fit as all gaming laptops have GPU's inside of them. 'General Use Laptops' don't have GPU's which means they can only be used for low spec games such as counter strike and minecraft. Reason is GPU's add about 1kg to the weight of your pc. I recommend getting a really cheap laptop for school then getting a good gaming pc at your home.

Doesn't make sense bro

You want a laptop which is NOT DESIGNED FOR GAMING, TO PLAY ONE OF THE MOST DEMANDING TITLES WITH NOT LOW SETTINGS

You're demanding quite a lot frankly.

It's like looking for a cheap car that flies.

Or a nice woman who has to be intelligent, extremely atractive, serve you for everything you need but no for a serious relashionship.

Or a mansion for less than 50,000 dollars.

Do you need more examples???

You always require to sacrifice things to get what you prefer

This one is thin, light, has a core i7 for the demanding tasks you need, a GTX 960M which should archive your gaming performance target and costs $730

There is nothing else I could do.
