Buying a new laptop for CAD programs and Gaming

4. Do you need a portable or desktop replacement laptop?

Portable, but it doesn't bother me as long as its not heavier then 3 kg (6.6 pounds)

6. Do you want to play games with your laptop? If so then please list the games that you want to with the settings that you want for these games. (Low,Medium or High)?

I will probably play games on it, but that's not the main purpose of the laptop. Lets say Assassins Creed IV - medium

7. What other tasks do you want to do with your laptop? (Photo/Video editing, Etc.)

Primary function of it will be to build HDL (hardware descriptive language) projects using a tool set provided by Xilinx called Vivado. Its a demanding program an I fear that in time it will be more demanding.

I've been studding the market in my country and found several models but the majority of them are Lenovo Essential M5400 and HP ProBook 450. I found a Toshiba Satellite C55 and an Asus X550 also. Regarding the specs, I think I can manage to determine which has a better performance. The biggest problem I am facing at this point is to determine how well it dissipates heat. I'm currently working on a Lenovo B580 and it over heats, luckily it didn't switch to thermal shutdown yet.

Additionally I prefer Intel and Nvidia products over AMD.

Thanks for your response. I went over the laptops in the link they where very helpful in understanding that those are actually good laptops for gaming (in the budget). So after lowering some of my expectations I went back hunting for a new laptop and found 4 candidates.

I know that there is almost no difference between 1 and 3, but do 90$ justify 4GB and a SSHD.
