Hi, All:

A 15" lappie weighing 5.7 lbs. running up to 8 hrs. on battery????

And that's just the "heavy" version! The 4-cell battery version is
less than 5 lbs. with the same 15" screen!!

Apparently the new Asus V6800V is only available in Taiwan right now,
with HK to follow next week and China and S. Korea later in the year.
No plans for US sales yet.

How can I get a hold of this without flying over to Taiwan?? What are
the issues involved (Chinese Windows, electrical, etc.)???

TIA!

I think a T42 weighs about that. The 8 hour thing is hype.

I've had an ASUS before (as per my "stolen laptop" thread a couple of
months ago), and they've got great battery life. The one I had really
did last for the advertised 3.5-4 hours! So even if they're off by a
good 25% in their estimates, that's still 6 hours on a single charge!

Anyway, turns out the V6V Series is for sale in the US after all --
just started last week, actually.
