Hey guys I have connected my hifi to my integrated amp which is a 1970s 2100 leak, because it's so old it uses 5 pin din inputs so I have had to connect a 5 pin din connector onto speaker wire and the other end of the wire is just bare wire which connects into the back of my hifi. When I have the hifi volume turned right down and the amplifier volume up there is a buzzing noise coming through the speakers which gets louder as you turn the amp volume up, but if u turn down the amp volume and turn the hifi volume up the buzzing nearly goes away. Please can someone help it's maybe something of my fault but if anyone has any suggestions they would be really much appreciated, thanks guys!!

On what piece of equipment is the hifi volume rather than the Leak amp volume? When you turn up the volume on the Leak you are using the gain in that so you hear the noise it is producing more than when you use the gain in the hifi volume control. An integrated amp that old probably need to be rebuilt to replace aged capacitors.
It could also be a ground loop between them.
