hi i have an old panasonic tv that has one audio input and one video input on it.. however my issue is the cable company tells me it will work with the xi5 wireless box even though there is no hdmi connection on the tv... so how does the cable company make this work... right now the ota box is connected to the tv and works perfect... i continue to be told that this will work by the local cable people.. what do they know that i do not... help please

I think he is just being dumb. the set up i sent you a few posts back should work.

this one

what you need is a hdmi to AV converter like the one i showed you before it will split the digital signal from the hdmi into video and audio. You will then need to plug HDMI in one end and power. in the other shove an RCA composite cable like this one

https://www.amazon.co.uk/electrosmart-Phono-Cable-Tripl...

This has Video and two audio for left and right. If it is audio and video ports as there is just one audio port you will then need a dual rca to single like below.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Cable-Core-Single-Double-Femal...
I would just say something like

I am still not sure how you are expecting me to be able to watch the TV without an external converter when my TV only has ports for coax and AV composite and the XI5 only outputs in HDMI.
If you have any insights in how to do this please tell me.

i sent the comcast guy the message this morning, got a reply:
again to confirm the box will work with your television

again, i do not see how it will work.. this guy must know nothing or he knows which tech can make it work... though i can not figure out how..

they are coming in 7 days so at this point i guess i need to sit tight and wait, i do not know what else to do...
