camera won't open

With new batteries installed , my kodak ES CX7430 will not open. The red and the green lights come on but.it won't open to take a picture. I have tried various brands of batteries and, no success. I would be very happy if you will help me.

Buy a new one. It is cheaper to replace this dinosaur than to trouble shoot it unless you get paid less then $1 per hour.
