Can a Vizio p50 jive wireless subwoofer be connected to anything else besides the T.V.?

I had a Vizio jive50 TV, subwoofer and surround Sound audio speakers. The TV died I was wondering if it was possible to pair the subwoofer with anything else besides the TV? I tried my tablet and smartphone by pressing the pairing button on the back of the subwoofer and neither device discovered the subwoofer. As a side note I also do not have the soundbar.

The "brain" maybe in the soundbar, which you don't have.

If you can get to the electronics of the sub you may be able to install a wired input to the amplifier bypassing the wireless receiver. Nothing to loose by taking a look.
