Can home Surround sound be used...

Can my home surround sound system some how be hooked to the PC so I can use the 5.1speakers instead of my tv speakers? I have my computer hooked to my LCD TV (video and audio)

Nevermind I figured it out... Had to run thewire from the sound card to the Mp3 plug on my receiver.
