If that's the question, then YES, you can.
By using an external casing, u can connect it to the USB port and access the files.

Yes, I have a laptop drive and I want to access data without connecting it internally. Thank you for the link. There are many different external casings to chose from with many different prices. What is the difference between these choices?

You have to find out if your drive is SATA or IDE.
Thats the type on connector on the drive.

They have listed different ones with additional features that are mostly not required.
Go for the cheapest one but make sure its the same connector.....i.e. SATA or IDE

Also if you could post details from the label on the drive we could tell you what you need.
