Solved! Can I bring a genie mini to a tailgate and hook up to friend's dish and receiver?

Would like to have the game on at our next tailgate. My friend a few spots away has a directv dish which he is willing to share. Given that he has a "genie" (regular DVR/receiver), would it be possible to connect to his set-up using a "genie mini?

It might be possible with their wireless video bridge.

but I think that your genie mini has to be activated on his DTV account. It's not clear whether you need Wifi too.

Thanks for the response. After reading a little more, I think you are right about the activation...and wi-fi is a problem (because of the volume of people using on game days).It may be easier to just bring main genie, though connecting with splitter there is some finagling needed to get it to work properly.
