Can I copy Microsoft Office 2010 from my laptop to a USB key? Is this possible? And if this is possible could someone please give me a step by step as to what this entails?

Thanks for any help in advance.
Sincerely,
Anna

Hi Paul,
Thanks for your reply.
I guess having a product key number would not make any difference in getting
the 2010 Microsoft Office on to a USB key from my laptop hard drive?
Sincerely,
Anna

No, I want to put it on the same laptop using a USB key because my daughter is going to clean/wipe everything off of my laptop including Microsoft Office 2010. So after my laptop is clean I could put Microsoft Office 2010 from my USB key back on to the same laptop without losing it. Or so I'm hoping.

If I understand you correctly you don't need a USB for this.

If you have a valid Product Key for Microsoft Office 2010 you can download the suite from Microsoft's web site or use the installation CD. After your daughter has cleaned your computer, you re-install Office 2010. Of course, you'll lose any and all customization you've made to the office suite.

NOTE: Prior to launching this operation you might want to back-up all your documents onto a USB of sufficient size. Go to Settings>Update & Security>Backup.
