Question can i insert a ram memory from a sony laptop into a hp laptop?

firt of all they must be the same type (ddr) for example if hp takes ddr3 sony must be only ddr3 not ddr2 or ddr4 and etc otherwise they wont work/fit. See the maximum ram/frequency that hp can take (you can google for your hp specs and see that) if frequency is lower will be slower if bigger mostly will work in slower frequence or it wont work at all
