Can I play new games on this Laptop ?

My father just bought me a new Laptop for High School and I've been wanting to play games on it. The problem is I don't even know if it could handle new games.

Specs :

Intel Core 2 Duo P8700 2.53 GHz
4 GB RAM DDR2
320 GB HD
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4650 1 GB DDR3
Windows 7 Home Premium

Is it good ? Can I play new games like Resident Evil 5 and Dead Space on it ?
