Can I use an Iphone 5 hotspot for pc gaming?

I am going on a trip out if town and the place I will be staying at doesn't have wifi and I wanted to play Garry's mod online on my laptop.

I have a personal hotspot available on my iphone 5 and I was wondering if I could use that to online game.

Is the hotspot fast enough to accomplish this task? If it is, how much data will gaming, say for an hour online use up on my verizon 8gb data plan? Thanks.

Why not just try it while still in the town? Check your data before and after the game, and you will know whether you can afford it (both speed-wise, and money-wise).

I did with BF4 + Skype, I don't remember how much data it was, but is not that much. 1 hour is less than 500mb for sure (I'm exaggerating).

I had 30 mb/bit up/down on my phone, and that is even faster than my home-network.

Is your plan 8gb a month? I'm pretty sure using 3g on a computer would make data usage go up very fast (some background processes, watching video and skype uses alot). I guess it should be ok
