Can I use my Roku remote which is on my phone, with a TOSHIBA tv

I have a Roku remote on my phone which I had down load. But it's doesn't want to find my tv, I have a TOSHIBA. I really want it to work cause I don't want to go and buy another Roku remote. How can I let it find my TOSHIBA tv

The Roku app on your phone will operate the Roku not the Toshiba TV itself. The app needs to find the Roku so that needs to be active and on the same wifi network.
