Below are the specs of my laptop:
MSI GL73 8RC-049CA Gaming Notebook
17.3" FHD (1920x1080)
Intel Core i7-8750H (2.20 GHz)
16GB DDR4,
1TB HDD,
NVIDIA GeForce GTX1050 2GB
Windows 10 Home

Can this laptop run the Oculus or HTC VR?

Best thing you can do is run a systems compatibility check for your system:

Vive Compatibility Check Tool

There is also the Steam VR Performance Test

Most higher end headsets require at least the GTX1060 for a positive experience, so I wouldn't expect positive results, but it doesn't hurt to check.
