Since my laptops battery is broken (turns off if not charged after a minute or so) I was wondering if I can just remove the internal battery and run it on AC power (which can be done on removable battery laptops) instead?

Thanks

Solution
I have yet to see a laptop that won't run without a battery as well. At least as long as the power adapter is working properly and has sufficient output power to run the laptop on its own.

Much of the time, adapter power input is simply diode/FET-OR'd with battery power on the power bus that feeds everything else.

Hi, I'm also looking for answer for this. So.. I removed the battery normally, leave the battery port open and it'll still run as per normal?

Have issues rn with swollen battery.
