i have recently just bought the htc vive and i'm having trouble setting it up



my specs are:
Laptop
gv62 7re
Gtx 1050ti, i don't know how many gb
I5-7300
12gb ram

can my laptop run vr

You really want at least the GTX 1060 to run the HTC Vive.

yea that's the recommended for the vive, not the minimum

HTC does not list specs like game devs do. Their "recommended" specs are considered their "minimum". They recommend you have those specs at least to run their hardware.

While some VR titles may work (low demand ones) I would agree that no, your system is not VR ready.

i have run the steamvr before and it says that it is capable

Those are some lower spec titles, so it might work. Thats a heavy might.
Essentially, if your specs arent up to par you can still run the game, but it kinda ruins the whole VR experience if you have any sort of stuttering, latency, or framerate issues.

i'm having a slight problem connecting the thing too, i think it doesn't connect to the GTX graphics card but the other, how do i fix that?

like when i do the vive setup i end at the part here it detects the headset and something goes wrong with the HDMI port
