Hello from Ireland,

I have a group of students who are learning Biochemistry.

As a project, I have been asked to create an interactive learning suite
for them to use. I would prefer to use good open-source freeware, but
have a project budget of €200 ($250) in total.

I've had a cup of tea and a think, and have broken it into a few different
modules, I suppose you could call them. Any advice on on how to
create these kind of things would be greatly appreciated:

1. - Multimedia Presentations, PowerPoint with bells and whistles kind of thing.

2. - Point and click things for anatomic structures heart, eye etc.

3. - Interactive lectures and Quizzes with scores.

4. - Web based system with student management statistics and reports etc.

Does anyone know of programs that will help with this kind of thing?

Or maybe you've done work in the past for a similar educational project
and can offer some advice.

Thanks

Barney.

I have not personally used it, but take a look at OpenClass beta (Pearson). It appears to be tailored to get a class up and running quickly (visual editor for creating course content, and integration with google apps). It *is* in beta, so there will probably be some bugs, but there was a large update in June. It's also free, so that should help to swallow the beta pill.
