Cannot connect Samsung Gravity TXT to computer via mini-USB

So this phone: http/www.samsung.com/us/support/owners/product/SGH-T379UABTMB will not show up on my computer device manager. All I want to do is put about a gig of music on it. I do not have the money right now for an iPod so I would like this to work. By the I have selected USB mass storage mod on the phone and it still does not work... Any suggestions?

download the samsung software from their official website that should include the drivers and try reconnecting your mobile again.
