Canon T6 vs Nikon D3300 for first DSLR

I'm looking at getting my first DSLR and so far these are the two cameras that have come up the most as good choices in my price range. I can either get the Nikon for around 588$ with the standard kit lens or the Canon with the kit lens and a 75-300mm lens and camera bag for 655$. I've also looked at mirrorless and I really like the sony A6000 but I'd have to wait a little bit to get that one. All suggestions and thoughts are welcome!

Would recommend you to get Nikon. Some mates use it for their media projects and they are quite happy with it.
