Cant boot from m.2 ssd but computer recognizes it

Hello, I recently bought a Crucial MX300 275GB M.2 ssd to use with my Acer vn7-591g. I formatted it and cloned my old drive over with no issues. The laptop recognizes the SSD everywhere, but for some reason it won't boot from it. When I unplug the hard drive and try to power it on it says "No bootable device".

what did you use to clone the drive? did you clone everything include the boot partition?
