I have an hp notebook 15 I bought an m.2 and placed it in the laptop and I used Macrium reflect to clone the HDD windwos partition the EFI volume and the recovery volume to the m.2 and everything went fine and I rebooted from the ssd the problem is I wasn't not allowed to make it the first boot option for some reason so I formatted the HDD in hopes that the only boot option would be the m.2 drive now the laptop won't won't always goes to the repair menu and it can't fix the or resolve the issue

Should have just remove the hdd for testing, not formatted it.
did you clone all the partition to the ssd or just the C drive?

I cloned all except D: partion which was empty
partition 1: System (I think this is the EFI partion)
partition 2: resereved
partion 3: primary ( this is the C)
partion 4: recovery
