cant connect internet on my HP laptop

I cant connect my laptop to internet. i have checked the cables and port it perfect. then connect another laptop on the same cable its working. also tried the updates of network drivers but still cant connect internet. please let me know a better solution. is i need to format the laptop??

I seriously doubt formatting the laptop would help. However if your network card is done for, then that could be why it isn't working.
